Please arrive 20 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment with your completed questionnaire and copies for us to keep of the following: laboratory or diagnostic testing (at least within the past year but may include testing from previous years if relevant), list of current medications with doses, list of current supplements with nutrient forms (e.g. magnesium citrate instead of just magnesium) and doses. Visits are limited to 2 hours in length. Any information not discussed during this visit can be addressed during a subsequent visit. As such, please fill out your questionnaire with as much detail as possible to help direct Dr. Ritz to the areas of highest concern.
Follow-ups are scheduled in 1 hour or 30-minute timeslots. The first follow-up after a New Patient Consultation is typically 1 hour and other follow-ups are generally 30 minutes. Please arrive on time as we are not able to extend your visit beyond the scheduled timeframe. Any information not covered during a follow-up visit can be reviewed at another time.
Please check with your insurance company prior to having any recommended lab testing done to make sure labs ordered by an out-of-network provider will be covered. In addition, we cannot guarantee that recommended lab testing (through a conventional lab or specialty lab) will be covered. It is the patient's responsibility to check with their insurance company prior to getting any recommended labwork done to check on coverage. You can call our office if you need any additional information per your insurance company.
Dr. Ritz sometimes recommends testing through a specialty lab for information that cannot be tested through a conventional lab. Specialty labs generally provide patients with a test kit free of charge. Patients can check with their insurance company prior to completing the test to check on coverage. If they decide to move forward with a specialty test, patients are instructed to include their payment to the lab with the kit when they send it in for processing. Please feel free to call our office or the relevant specialty lab with any questions.
We carry a variety of supplements at our office as a convenience to our patients. These are high-quality supplements from reputable companies in terms of sourcing, processing, and testing purity and potency of the products. Please let us know if you are interested in the products we carry.
Patients are required to bring a towel to be placed on the sitting bench and water to drink throughout and after the sauna session. Please check back for updated policies regarding sauna use.
Please call our office at any time with any questions that may arise at 302-384-7451. We are currently in the office Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays by appointment. If we are unable to answer your call directly, please leave a message with your full name, reason for the call, best time to be called back, and phone number. We will get back to you at our earliest opportunity. We will determine whether or not you will need to come into the office to discuss your concern in more depth. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.
Please call our office at least one week prior to needing a medication or supplement refill.
We accept cash, check, and credit cards (Mastercard, Visa, American Express, Discover). Payment is due at the time of service. We do ask for a credit card number when an appointment is scheduled. This will be used for any appointment cancellation made without the proper notice. In addition, follow-up phone consultations will be billed to your credit card on file in our office unless you provide other payment information and instructions prior to your appointment.
BCIM does not accept insurance or Medicare. At the end of each visit, you will be provided with a CMS-1500 form that includes diagnosis and procedure codes to assist you with possible insurance reimbursement. We encourage patients to check with their insurance company before coming for a visit to see what portion of their visit will be covered and check policies for submission for reimbursement. It is the patient's responsibility to make all submissions and inquiries regarding insurance reimbursement for office visits and lab testing.
Due to the increasing number of requests for appointments, there is a 7-day cancellation policy, and your appointment must be confirmed at least 7 days prior to your scheduled visit. When you schedule an initial visit, we request a credit card number to hold the appointment for you. No charges will be applied to your credit card unless you miss or cancel an appointment without proper notice. There will be a $50 fee for appointments that are missed or cancelled without the proper notice. You may cancel your appointment by calling our office. If calling after hours, please leave a message.
